"My name is Rebona, I am the guitarist and leader of the band Rebona.
I am 37 years old, I am originally from Ankily Ambany. I am from the Tanalagna Temilahehe ethnic group.
I started playing the guitar when I was 18 years old.
I learned to play mandolin with the musician Sely and by listening to the guitar players Damily, Teta and Tsely (from the group Mamehy).

I was a substitute for Redodo and Vantazy before forming my own band, Zaza Mihisa.
In 2004 we released the song Taxi Lela which made us well-known.
After that, when I became more famous, we changed the name of the band to Rebona.

At the beginning we only played the tsapiky "cadence".
Since about ten years ago, we have a different sound, guitar techniques and we play the tsikidona style with the new rhythms akalo telo, liandambo invented by Befila and katsehake."
